Our Collective Wellbeing Concerns Everyone

Preventives MEASURES

BALNEA Spa + Réserve thermale takes to heart the health and wellbeing of its guests. We wish to uphold the public health and safety measures aimed at slowing down the spread of the virus. Here are the measures and policies that have already been implemented as well as the additional precautions we have taken to allow all of our guests to enjoy their health and wellness experience inside a safe environment.

UPDATE – MARCH 15TH, 2020

To all our guests and tourism partners,

Please note that according to the directives issued by the Government of Quebec on Sunday March 15, 2020, BALNEA spa + réserve thermale is closed for an indefinite period.

We care about the health of our guests and our team members and in this sense, we support public health measures aimed at slowing the spread of viruses. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We are on the lookout for new information and will keep you informed of developments.

Employee Policy

As a rule, we align our internal policies with those established by the competent authorities. Therefore, we have decided to comply with the government’s “voluntary quarantine” recommendation. Starting on March 12, we are asking our employees to withdraw from their workplace for a period covering 14 days if they are returning from a trip abroad, and/or if they present symptoms similar to cold or influenza symptoms.

Employees who are able to come to work, have the obligation to shower before arriving on the site, and must wash their hands before beginning their work shift. Furthermore, they must wash their hands at least once per hour.

Guest Policy

Starting on March 12, we ask our guests to refrain from visiting the spa if they’re returning from a vacation abroad and/or if they show symptoms similar to cold or influenza symptoms.

Our regular cancellation policy rules have also been eased to allow our guests to cancel, at no cost, their same day care if they do so minimally 4 hours in advance.

Site Maintenance

Even though the cleanliness of our installations is a constant priority for us, we have increased the frequency of our daily maintenance operations for all our surfaces, objects our guests and staff often come in contact with, as well as all seating spaces in our relaxation zones, saunas, steam rooms and other installations.

Please note that our cleaning products have been tested to be effective in eliminating viruses and bacteria.

Every day, our night staff is busy cleaning all our installation surfaces such as all floors, showers, washrooms, counters, baths, pools, steam rooms, saunas, work surfaces and chairs. All the spa’s seating spaces are also disinfected several times every day; these include, among others, those found in the Aquarium room, the Anti-chambre, the sofas of the reception hall, the Havre, the Réfectoire and the Lounge.

Installation of Several Hand Disinfection Stations

Alcohol-based hand disinfectant distributors can be found in different spots on the site. These include such areas as:

  • The reception area indoors and outdoors
  • The Lounge
  • The LUMAMI entrance
  • All Locker rooms
  • Entrance area for bath and sauna zones
