Last October 2, surrounded by the legendary autumn mist that sometimes hangs over the BALNEA reserve, I was able to attend a morning dedicated to the\u00a0Foundation<\/a> of Stars<\/u><\/span>; a very special event which launched the fundraising campaign Relax<\/span><\/strong><\/a> for the Cause<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Foundation of Stars is devoted exclusively to the support and financing of pediatric research. Besides carrying out its primary mission to protect, promote and improve the health and wellbeing of children, the Foundation is also the most important privately funded source of financial support for childhood diseases. Thanks to these donations, from people like you and me, the Foundation can finance childhood disease research. Each dollar donated to pediatric researchers aims not only to improve the quality of life for sick children, but that of their families as well.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

BALNEA is partnering with the Foundation of Stars to help raise funds while offering a little respite for families so they can relax for a moment at the reserve. These parents, each with their own story, know that each donation can make a difference. One of them explained to me the impact of a contribution to the Foundation: \u201cWhile it helps with the advancement of research, you\u2019re also making a difference in each child\u2019s life and you give families renewed hope. In fact, you become part of the solution!\u201d And this responsibility belongs to each one of us. To this effect, Dr.\u00a0Bernard, recipient of the first Foundation fund raiser last year, agreed: \u201cA child should never be sick! Pediatric research works to find cures for all our little patients or, at least to improve their quality of life. This is essential!\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Sylviane Chatel, Development Director for the Foundation of Stars, was present took part in this very special moment. We could all feel the excitement, the solidarity and the resilience of everyone present at the launching. It was indeed a very emotional moment.<\/p>\n

Maripier Morin, spokesperson for the Foundation, was also present and met with the families. I took this opportunity to speak with her as we enjoyed a glass of Mimosa. \u201cMy mission this year will be to shake up the people of Quebec, to try and have everyone contribute a little bit [\u2026]. Even the smallest donation can make a difference!\u201d <\/em>she insists, her eyes beaming with hope. At that moment, I too wanted to get involved with this luminous mission.<\/p>\n
