The sun, the leaf-covered trees, the lake with its refreshing crystal-clear water, summer is definitely my favourite season! What I like most is that it allows me to take advantage of nature and enjoy many different outdoor activities. Each year, BALNEA’s summer program aims to create a perfect symbiosis between humans and the environment. To renew our energy in the heart of nature offers even more relaxing and inspiring benefits. It constitutes a very special experience that stimulates all the senses and sharpens our sensitivity. This sensitivity, we often forget, permits us to take maximum advantage of a spa day. To reach this state of wellbeing, BALNEA proposes outdoor activities which allow us to really open up and appreciate our time here and now.
This initiative begins with a yoga session presented by the prestigious Modo yoga group, in the middle of nature, on the shores of the lake. The experience is even more uplifting if it’s practised inside such a magnificent environment! I pause and become more conscious of my own rhythm and that of the elements around me: The sound of the leaves in the trees, the delightful scents of the flora and the wood-burning camp fire, the sensation of the warm wind on my face and as it blows through my hair … and then there’s the powerful sun, with its salutary light, giving me the impression that I’m collecting a lifetime of energy! What’s also appealing is that, no matter the weather, the reserve offers alternatives for giving their sessions in different revitalizing settings, always with incredible views of this amazing venue.
One option offered is SUP yoga; yoga practised on Lake Gale’s crystalline water, standing on a paddleboard. It’s a very immersive experience during which we revisit all the classic yoga poses with the added indulgence of dipping our toes in the cool water from time to time! I especially love SUP yoga as the sun’s rays reflect on the water and little waves splash onto my board while the aquatic landscape slowly appears through the lake’s clarity and transparence. It’s quite indescribable! one needs to try SUP yoga at least once in their lifetime!
In the same line of thought, the meditation course designed by Mindspace is also a great way to rediscover BALNEA in complete mindfulness. All we need to do is ask for a submersible earpiece and explore the different reserve installations as we follow the instructions guiding us through this experience. For me it was an excellent way to really let go and connect with the present moment by examining the thoughts and emotions which crossed my mind.
These different activities offer me some excellent options to help my body and my mind open up to benefit totally from a day at the spa. I become much calmer while I establish what my intention will be on this day: Why do I want to be here at the spa today? What do I wish to gain from my practice, from my relaxation time? Every time, I learn something new about myself and I feel that I’ve experienced more inner growth.
Taking advantage of a day at the spa is always a great idea, but to transform it into a revitalizing experience, as we nourish our mind, is even better!
