BALNEA spa + thermal reserve is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Since its opening, BALNEA has redefined the spa experience by placing it at the heart of nature, notably with the breathtaking view that can be admired from its facilities. 2005
In October 2005, after more than a year and a half of construction, BALNEA spa + thermal reserve officially opened its doors! From the very beginning, it became the benchmark for day spas in Québec.
2011
BALNEA continues its mission to offer moments of well-being, this time by opening relaxation areas with massages and treatments at Montréal–Trudeau International Airport.
2007 à 2013
Multiplication of relaxation areas to create diverse spaces adapted to the seasons. This period saw the arrival of the Cinéspa, the Aquarium, the Winter Lounge, the Haven, the Lounge, the Beach Club, and the Moroccan Lounge.
2014
Inauguration of the new reception pavilion, a stilted building that blends delicately into the forest while serving as a central link between the site’s existing structures.
2015
BALNEA refines its culinary offering with nature-inspired cuisine and renames its restaurant after the fifth taste, LUMAMI. The menu features a selection of seasonal, colorful, and flavorful dishes.
2018
BALNEA adds entirely new outdoor spaces with the creation of the West Terrace. It features a brand-new eucalyptus hammam and a large hot bath overlooking the lake.
2020
Located on the BALNEA site, the Beatnik Hôtel welcomes travelers looking for a getaway in the region. The BALNEA team takes over the management of the hotel, with several projects planned for the future.
2023
Launch of a year-round microfarm with a winter greenhouse, providing the LUMAMI restaurant with fresh produce throughout the year.
2024
Addition of a 70-foot-wide infinity whirlpool overlooking the nature reserve, as well as a fully glazed solar room with sand, heat, and light that follows the sun’s cycle.
2025-26
Beatnik Hôtel completes an ambitious project with the upgrade of its common areas and the addition of 24 new rooms, 15 of which will open by the end of the year.
